Hi

Has anyone gone through the process of successfully gaining non-self accrediting higher education institution status and having a program accredited has a Graduate Certificate?

I hope to be doing this in the not too distant future and would really like some advice from someone who has been through it.

Deb,

What do you mean by 'non self-accrediting'? Do you mean RTO (Registered Training Organisation)? Universities are self-accrediting by legislation (but I can't give you all the current details as I've been away from that sector for some time), but I've never heard of a non self-accrediting organisation seeking accreditation.

Non self-accrediting higher education institution status is not the same as an RTO.

Higher Education qualifications other than those offered by the universities and self-accrediting institutions are able to be offered by a non self-accrediting higher education institution.

These institutions are registered by the various commonwealth, state and territory government higher education accreditation authorities as a higher education institution and each course they offer must be accredited by the authority.

I manage a graduate diploma and we are a registered non-self accrediting higher education provider. We have are currently in the process of having our registration and accreditation renewed. I'd be happy to discuss this with you.
