Hi there,

I am interested in how other people train the quite dry subjects - eg: compliance.

We currently have a powerpoint preso with group discussions and sample calls.

What and how do you do it?

Interested :-)

Ours is all online (call centre - finance) with both quiz and free form assessments afterwards. However to reinforce the learning all the other activites throughout the induction include compliance (systems, processes, products and those topics quizzes, and role-play assessments).

To insure the transfer of learning to the job our quality assurance team monitors calls and we also conduct quarterly skill audits through a number of scenarios and multiple choice quizzes.

Its a dry subject but scenarios make it alive and easy to understand, puts it in context of everyday work requierments, not just a theory no one knows how to apply and has a different view on! So get plenty of those and build up 'the scenario' library, it will come in handy later and cen be revised and reused time and time again.

Regards

Marina

Questionnaires/quizzes that pinpoint 'slices' of information for each segment keep people on their toes. Participants hand it in the completed questionnaire at the end of the day. (You don't necessarily have to ask a question about every point, just a few salient points from each session.) It's kinda fun and definitely makes the learning active.
