 26th Knowledge Warriors
An afternoon seminar and workshop

The internet is the new frontier, and learning and development practitioners have to learn how to work productively in that space. We know there is a huge array of resources and information “out there” but often it seems like an onslaught and a jungle.

How do we become knowledge warriors? We can learn about some of the new tools and techniques so that we are more efficient and productive. We can find out about new ways of working and facilitating learning.

In this afternoon seminar and workshop you will hear from some colleagues who work in the frontier and who have developed skills to operate creatively and effectively.

What will you learn?

  • Change how you think about information and organise it more effectively
  • Conduct more powerful searches for online information, news and resources
  • Connect with others online to communicate, share resources and develop professionally.

The program

  • What comes first: the tools or our goals?
  • How do we organise our information so we can deal with the constant flow of new information?
  • How can we do online searches more effectively?
  • Hands-on: Exploring and using some specific tools for productivity and community

The afternoon will finish with refreshments and time for informal networking.

Presenters and facilitators include Anne Bartlett-Bragg (University of Technology, Sydney and Headshift) and Sharada Subramanian (Novus Solutions)

Outcome

You will leave with:

  • knowledge of how to create a personal  information structure so you can enjoy the wealth of what is on the internet
  • knowledge of tools and techniques that will help you to access resources
  • a toolkit of links and resources to further your own adventures as a knowledge warrior

Register and you can participate in an online community leading up to the event. You will receive login details after you have registered.
