Neuroscience for Learning Design and Delivery - Sydney
Course | F2F
This program provides essential knowledge of the brain’s role in learning and offers a strong practical focus to translate the latest neuroscience into the design and delivery of effective learning experiences.
By distilling the latest neuroscience across five core areas of learning design and delivery, the NeuroEMBEDTM Framework helps L&D practitioners to create programs that embed knowledge into memory and behaviours into habits. These include:
Environment – creating ideal learning environments, within the brain & classroom
Memory – tapping into the brain’s memory processes to build long-term recall
Behaviour – managing behaviours that limit learning
Engagement – increasing motivation, curiosity and drive to learn
Development – enhancing learning transfer and development of new habits.
This program builds on the broad introduction provided by AITD’s Adult Learning course. This additional program expands on key concepts, providing specific brain-based approaches for effective learning design and delivery. Neither program requires prerequisites or prior knowledge.
L&D Project Management dives into planning, end-to-end processes and explores the Project Management Body of Knowledge methodology. If you want to run complex L&D projects, add theoretical frameworks and discover some practical tools and methods that will assist in your journey, then this course is for you.
This course is designed to provide you with the essential skills and insights to begin your journey as an instructional designer. Over the course, you will explore into fundamental instructional design concepts, explore key frameworks, and engage in practical applications to enhance your ability to develop impactful and engaging learning experiences.
Learning is no longer judged on participation or satisfaction alone — it must demonstrate clear impact on performance, capability, and strategic organisational outcomes.
This practical, hands-on course will equip you to design, implement and communicate robust evaluation strategies that go beyond surface-level metrics. Participants will learn how to align evaluation with organisational priorities, capture meaningful data, generate actionable insights, and tell compelling learning impact stories that influence decision-making and ensure ongoing commitment to learning. By undertaking this course, participants will be able to confidently answer the question: "Did this learning initiative make a difference, and how do we know?"
This course introduces the principles of adult learning. Learners will uncover the impact of learnerengagement, memory, adult learning theories, neuroscience and learning environments.
Learning frontiers will also be explored, as developments in adult learning used to strengthen programs, help build personal networks, and introduce social and collaborative elements to engage learners are discussed.
Future Learning Design: New Research on the State and Future of the Profession
Webinar | Online
The Australian Institute of Training and Development (AITD) is pleased to present the official launch of the Learning Design Futures Survey findings, a significant new research project examining the current state of the learning design profession across Australia and New Zealand.
Conducted by researchers from Monash University, the University of Wollongong and the University of Tasmania in partnership with AITD, the study provides new insights into the experiences, capabilities, career pathways and professional challenges of learning designers working across higher education, vocational education, corporate learning, government, healthcare and community sectors.
Drawing on responses from 268 practitioners, the research offers a timely snapshot of a highly skilled and increasingly visible profession. It also highlights areas where participants identified ongoing challenges, including professional recognition, career pathways, shared standards and cross-sector connection. Facilitated by AITD Vice President Amy Martin, this special launch event brings together members of the research team to discuss the survey findings, consider their implications for Learning and Development professionals, and open a conversation about the future of learning design practice.
