According to the 70:20:10 model, most trainers only ever analyse what learners are doing ten percent of the time. For years, we’ve wanted to know more about people’s actual experiences as they learn on the job or interact with their peers.

That’s where the Experience API comes in.

  • Imagine a world where the person who taught your favourite barista was automatically recognised because something took note when you clicked the happy face on that iPad – a world in which learning was now plugged into the 'internet of things'…
  • Imagine if it were possible to use artificial intelligence to know which students need help – before they do…
  • Imagine if you could show that students who complete your course are now 7% more effective at work without having to do any surveys…
  • Imagine if your supervisor assessment of that trainee was immediately captured and your learning ecosystem accredits them automatically…
  • Imagine if all that valuable data about people’s learning development and skills that lives across disconnected systems could be consolidated without actually having to do integrations…
  • Imagine if you knew that your systems would be forever future proof because the standard that connected your learning ecosystem was designed for the unforeseeable…

In this session, we’ll explain how xAPI achieves all this in a non-technical way. Participants will look at practical, real-world applications and explore the potential for xAPI in their own workplaces and how to go about setting up a trial on a shoestring.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Why your organisation needs to be aware of the Experience API.
  2. The Experience API is for everyone – not just for nerds.
  3. How to get started without a budget.
