Join us for an evening of making, play and creative connection with Queensland’s L&D community.
Across the evening, participants will rotate through a series of hands-on creative experiences, including working with images, weaving and playful LEGO® building.
It’s a chance to experiment, connect with others and enjoy different ways of thinking and making in a relaxed, social setting.
No creative experience needed. Just bring your curiosity and willingness to have a go.
Networking and refreshments
Arrive from 5:30 pm for informal networking and light refreshments before the creative rotations begin.
The evening is designed to make connection easy, with conversation encouraged naturally through the hands-on activities.
Key takeaways:
• Experience three different hands-on approaches to creativity and participation.
• Explore how images, making and playful building can open up different ways of thinking and talking.
• Connect with other L&D professionals through shared creative experiences.
• Take away fresh inspiration for bringing more creativity and play into learning and facilitation.
• Enjoy the simple pleasure of making something without needing to be “creative” or artistic.

Weaving Stories: Culture, Connection and Learning Through Making
Led by Tamara Williams, this hands-on weaving experience invites participants to slow down, create with their hands and learn through story and connection. As participants weave, Tamara will share the cultural meaning she chooses to bring to the activity and reflect on how making together can create space for listening, belonging and shared learning.
