Get Connected, Stay Connected

Thank you for completing the AITD member survey. Your input helps shape AITD’s future initiatives, ensuring we continue to provide meaningful resources, professional development, and opportunities that support Australia’s learning and development community.

We appreciate your contribution and commitment to advancing L&D practice.

While you’re here, why not continue connecting and learning with fellow professionals? Explore below the various ways you can get connected and grow your L&D career.

CONNECTING TOGETHER

Face‑to‑Face Networking Events

With the support of volunteer divisional councils, AITD runs local networking events and peer‑to‑peer learning opportunities across Australia. These face‑to‑face events bring the community together for professional development and allow members to meet others in their region

Webinars

Learn from leaders in the L&D field from Australia and around the globe. We aim to host webinars each month, which are free for members to attend and a small fee for non-members.

Social Media

Connect with us and join the conversation on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and X. You'll find fresh daily content of various events, courses, insights from our magazine and articles, photos from events and more.

Training & Development Magazine

AITD publishes an industry‑leading quarterly magazine that features thought leadership, case studies and reviews. Members receive each issue for free, and many rate it as the most valuable part of their membership.

Writing for the magazine or advertising within it provides an opportunity to raise your profile among L&D peers.

Divisional Councils

AITD has six divisional councils—ACT, NSW, Queensland/Northern Territory, South Australia, Victoria/Tasmania and Western Australia—whose members are elected by peers. Councils meet monthly (in person or virtually) to plan professional‑development events and promote the benefits of AITD membership.

Joining a council broadens your network, increases your profile and can lead to discounts on courses and eligibility to nominate for the AITD Board.

Mentoring Program

AITD’s mentoring program pairs experienced L&D professionals with mentees seeking to develop their skills or careers. Mentors gain exposure to emerging issues and improve their mentoring skills, while mentees benefit from guidance, an expanded network and goal‑setting support.

The 2026 program runs from 1 February to 30 November, uses the Mentorloop platform and encourages monthly meet‑ups; participants can also reach out to others in the program to broaden their network.

The AITD National Conference is a highlight of the L&D calendar. The 2026 conference is scheduled for 13–15 May 2026 at the Sofitel Brisbane and will include the AITD Excellence Awards.
