Recognising sustained contribution to the L&D profession.

Fellows (FAITD) and Associate Fellows (AFAITD) are AITD's senior membership grades, appointed by the Board. A Fellow has at least ten years in training, learning and development or organisational development, postgraduate qualifications or the equivalent experience, and a record of significant contribution to the profession. An Associate Fellow has at least five years, a degree or the equivalent experience, and the same record of contribution. Each of them has given back through leadership, writing, speaking, mentoring, judging or volunteering, and we are proud to count them among our members.

Both lists are by state and territory. Current as at November 2026.

Could this be you?

If you have five or more years in L&D and a record of contribution to the profession, see Associate Fellow. With ten or more years and postgraduate qualifications or the equivalent experience, see Fellow. You do not need to be a current member to apply, and every application is assessed by the Board. Our Career Pathways page shows how the grades fit together, and AITD's highest honour is described on the Life Members page.
