Retired membership keeps you connected to AITD and to the L&D community you helped build, at half the Professional Member fee. You keep learning, keep in touch with peers, and have a place to pass on what you know.
Who can apply
Retired membership is for people who have retired from full-time work in training, learning and development or a related field, and who now work only limited hours, if at all. You can apply whether or not you have been an AITD member before.
If your circumstances change and you return to regular work, let us know and we will move you across to Professional membership. Members with a long record of contribution may also want to look at Associate Fellow or Fellow.
What retired membership gives you
- Keep learning | Monthly webinars and self-paced courses included in your membership, member rates on AITD courses and the National Conference, and the Capability Framework and CPD Program if you want to keep a record.
- Stay connected | Local events in every state, the Member Directory and the LinkedIn community of practice.
- Pass it on | Mentor an emerging practitioner through the Mentoring Program, write for Training & Development magazine, speak at local events, or judge the AITD Excellence Awards.
- Keep reading | Training & Development magazine, the member-only resources and the AITD newsletters.

Membership is non-transferable and non-refundable. By becoming an AITD member, you agree to abide by our terms and conditions, constitution, by-laws and code of ethics.
How to join

- You'll be taken to a payment page. If you aren't, check your email for an invoice and payment link.
- Once your payment is confirmed, you can log in and start using your member benefits.
