Professional Member

The membership most L&D practitioners choose.

Professional membership is for anyone working in, or moving into, training, learning and development. It gives you a professional home: the Capability Framework to plan your growth, webinars and courses to build it, a national network of peers in every state and sector, and the post-nominal MAITD to show your commitment. AITD is a not-for-profit institute, and we have held the fee steady for years.

Who can join

You qualify for Professional membership if you meet any one of these:

• A tertiary qualification in learning and development or a related discipline
• A role in learning, education, training and development or a related field
• A professional interest or active role in learning and development or a related field

Related disciplines include vocational education and training, human resources, organisational development, talent development, eLearning, education and adult education. If you are still studying, Student membership costs less. If you live outside Australia, see International membership. Experienced practitioners with a record of contribution to the profession can apply directly for Associate Fellow or Fellow.

What Professional membership gives you

• Share | Monthly webinars with leading L&D experts, included in your membership ($45 each for non-members). Training & Development magazine and the member-only resources. Write for the magazine, speak at events, advertise roles at no cost on the L&D Jobs Board, enter the AITD Excellence Awards and vote in AITD elections.

Your post-nominal, and where it can lead

Professional Members use MAITD after their name. It tells employers and clients that you belong to Australia's institute for L&D professionals and work to its code of ethics. Membership in your sector

AITD members work in corporate, government, defence, health, education and consulting settings. Our Your Sector pages show how members in each setting use their membership, and which courses, events and resources matter most to them.

Fees

Membership is non-transferable and non-refundable. Joining with five or more colleagues? Corporate membership costs less per person and the memberships stay with your organisation. By becoming an AITD member, you agree to abide by our terms and conditions, constitution, by-laws and code of ethics.
