Tamara will share her insights from designing and delivering culturally responsive First Nations mentoring programs connecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff with non-Indigenous mentors.

Tamara is a proud Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal woman, with extensive experience in the child protection sector, having worked across both government and non-government agencies for many years.

She’s deeply passionate about embedding cultural practices into her work and the broader child protection field, focusing on supporting children and young people, preserving families and celebrating her culture to achieve this vision.

She currently works as a Senior Advisor in the student and workforce development programs within the Central Recruitment Team of Strategic Workforce Planning within the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety.
