Not all emotionally intelligent leadership behaviours are equal — and in the current environment of AI disruption, economic pressure and widespread uncertainty, knowing which ones matter most has never been more important.

At this event, Dr Ben Palmer, creator of the Genos EI model, will reveal insights from Genos' 2026 Australian 360 EI Assessment data, drawn from assessments of thousands of leaders across levels and industries.

You'll discover which EI behaviours are making the biggest difference to trust, productivity and culture right now — and how to develop them.

Leave with practical, evidence-based strategies you can apply immediately or take back to your leaders or clients.

This AITD NSW Council session will involve data-based insights, and practical tools and techniques to enhance important emotionally intelligent leadership behaviour in the current Australian context. It will inspire meaningful conversation and connection amongst industry peers attending.

You will walk away knowing:

  • Which EI behaviours matter most right now
  • Practical, evidence-based strategies you can apply immediately in your own work or take back to your leaders, teams or clients.
  • A compelling business case to work on the development of emotionally intelligent leadership

Presenter - Dr Ben Palmer, CEO, Genos International

Ben completed a PhD in Psychology at Swinburne University where he created the first Australian model and measure of emotional intelligence, known today as the Genos Emotional and Social Competency Inventory. His model and measure of EI is used in 35 different countries in 28 different languages. He is an adjunct research fellow at Swinburne University and Torrens University in Australia and the NSW AITD Division Council President. Ben is also an experienced CEO himself having grown Genos from a small team to an international business with scale, an extensive blue-chip client base, and an enviable reputation and brand seen my many as the ‘Mercedes Benz’ of emotional intelligence assessment and development.
