- AITD News
Defence trains at a scale and standard few organisations match, and the demand is growing. AITD supports the military and civilian training professionals, and the defence industry L&D teams, who make that happen.
Who we work with
Training designers, instructors and learning leaders across the Navy, Army and Air Force, Defence APS, related agencies and defence industry. Many work and move between uniformed, civilian and industry roles across their careers.
What's shaping Defence L&D
- Growing and keeping the workforce. Recruitment and retention are priorities across the ADF and the Defence APS, and good training and career development are part of the answer.
- Sovereign capability. Growing the advanced manufacturing workforce means training people in specialist skills at a new scale.
- Defence industry skilling. Workforce and skills are at the centre of a stronger defence industry.
- Simulation and synthetic training. Realistic training environments are growing fast, and so is the need to show that training transfers to performance.
- Recognition and transition. Military training deserves recognition in civilian qualifications, and many veterans bring deep training expertise into L&D careers.
