Many learning and development professionals are asked to deliver solutions—but not always invited to shape the conversation. In an environment of tightening budgets, competing priorities, and rapid organisational change, L&D’s impact increasingly depends on its ability to partner strategically and influence with credibility.

The challenge is not capability—it’s positioning.

L&D professionals must move beyond order-taking to become trusted advisors who understand the business, challenge assumptions, diagnose real needs, and influence decision-makers with confidence and evidence.

Join Lisa Elias and Cheryle Walker as they explore what it truly takes for L&D to operate as strategic partners—shaping outcomes, not just delivering programs.

Drawing on decades of leadership, consulting, and board-level experience, Lisa and Cheryle will unpack the mindsets, behaviours, and practical approaches that enable L&D to influence effectively and create shared ownership with stakeholders.

In this webinar, you will build knowledge of:

  • What distinguishes strategic partnering from traditional L&D support
  • The mindset shift required to move from provider to trusted advisor
  • How influence really works in complex organisational environments
  • Diagnosing the real problem behind stakeholder requests
  • Communicating L&D value in language that resonates with decision-makers

Key Takeaways:

  • Practical strategies to build trust and credibility with senior stakeholders
  • Techniques for influencing without authority
  • Approaches to challenge assumptions while maintaining strong relationships
  • Tools for translating business priorities into aligned L&D solutions
  • Ways to create shared ownership, commitment, and follow-through
