The successful candidate will be based in either Vic, NSW or WA and will enjoy the benefits of hybrid work arrangements (WFH).

Reporting directly to the National Workforce Development (NWD) Manager, you will help shape Salvos Stores learning culture and enhance the capability of the workforce. Using your experience and knowledge in workforce development, make a difference by helping others develop their skills and give back to the community. This role will work closely with the NWD Manager and organisational stakeholders to understand employee learning needs, create supportive learning pathways, and manage the delivery of BAU training programs within the retail, operational and logistics context.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading the Retail Development Team and supporting it’s members.  
  • Engage with key stakeholders on NWD topics and ensure that stakeholders are aware of the value that NWD can provide.  
  • Assist with the development and implementation of NWD initiatives that support the SS Workforce Development Strategy 
  • Foster and support a strong National Workforce Development team culture which leverages individual strengths by providing coaching, and mentoring opportunities to uplift learning design and delivery capability as well as project-coordination and leadership within the team
  • Allocate day to day NWD resources based on priorities and the most effective and efficient means of delivery
  • Assess the return on investment (ROI) of training or development programs and provide recommendations to the NWD Manager 

You will have: 

  • Certificate in Training and Assessment (at minimum) - essential 
  • Tertiary qualification in L&D, OD or HR Management or a related business discipline - preferred Accreditation in any of the following: TMP, Crucial Conversations, Emotional Intelligence, DISC, MBTI, Situational Leadership, or similar psychometrics – preferred but not essential
  • Proven experience in leading an operational team and delivering effective, learning initiatives in a Retail or not-for-profit environment 
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strong project and operations management methodology Strong working network within the L&D and/or retail community 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven success of leading a team which is geographically dispersed.
