Michelle Parry-Slater is a distinguished people development strategist, author, and practitioner. Recognised as a leader in her field, she relocated to Australia in 2024 and recently joined Michelle Ockers at Learning Uncut. Specialising in helping organisations create impactful learning and organisational development, Michelle builds purposeful learning strategies and programmes.
In the workforce for over 35 years, with over 20 of those in People roles, particularly L&OD, Michelle offers a broad perspective, supporting her clients to embrace the best of all forms of learning to support organisational challenges and feed into purpose.
Michelle has experience in a wide variety of sectors, including universities, tech and learning vendors, financial services, aviation, global mobility, FMCG, local and central government, veterinary, events, sports, membership organisations, youth and charities.
On a career mission to drive cultural change within organisations, Michelle advocates for a shift from traditional "Injection Education" practices towards fostering workplace capability through effective, efficient, enjoyable, and engaging everyday learning and human-centred cultures. A pragmatic People Professional, Michelle possesses a deep understanding of business impact and strategy concerning all aspects of Talent, working towards the world adopting more effective workplace practices to ensure everyone in work can be their best.
Michelle has contributed significantly to the People Profession. She is the author of the globally popular book The Learning and Development Handbook and co-hosts the Learning Uncut Podcast. Michelle is a monthly contributor to People Management Magazine. A sought-after speaker, she shares her insights globally at conferences, webinars, podcasts, and on Learning Now TV. Additionally, Michelle serves as an industry awards judge.
